Frank Fichert successfully presented a paper on "Effects of Capacity Sharing on Delays and Re-routings in European ATM" and #MarcMelgosa and Jovana Kuljanin successfully presented a poster on "Would airspace users accept potential delays or reroutings for a discount in route charges" at the SESAR Innovation Days 2022, which was hosted by HungaroControl from 05-08 December in Budapest, Hungary.
Jan-Rasmus Künnen successfully presented the paper "network-oriented planning of cross-border capacity provision to increase resilience and improve performance" at the Research Workshop Single European Sky and Resilience in ATM, which was organized from 15-16 September in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The CADENZA team is happy that our final Stakeholder Workshop was very successful as well as fruitful, with many attendees both onsite and online. The CADENZA team has very succesful time at the 25th Air Transport Research Society Conference, organized by the team of the Antwerp Management School, University of Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium. In total, members of the CADENZA team gave four presentations at the conference, two of them on site (Frank Fichert and Goran Pavlovic), and two of them remotely (Jan-Rasmus Künnen and Marc Melgosa).
The paper “Rostering practices and ATCO productivity in Area Control Centres”, authored by Goran Pavlović, Radosav Jovanović and Milan Stanojević, and presented by Goran Pavlović, was awarded as the best paper in the "Human performance" track at the 10th International Conference on Research in Air Transportation (ICRAT 2022) in Tampa, Florida.
The CADENZA team is looking back at two interesting, busy, and successful days at the World ATM Congress in Madrid with one presentation at the FABEC OPS theatre, two presentations at the Europe for Aviation stand, and many bilateral discussions. We are thankful for the interest into our project and the positive feedback that we received. We are looking forward to the final CADENZA stakeholder workshop that will take place at Eurocontrol Headquarter in Brussels on 7th September.
On 30 May 2022 Jan-Rasmus Künnen and Nikola Ivanov presented CADENZA at the EASA/EUROCONTROL ATM/ANS Environmental Transparency Working Group meeting (online), with a focus on environmental perspective and performance interdependencies involved. Nearly 40 participants attended the meeting, with lots of questions, practical insights, and valuable suggestions for further work.
On 18 May 2022, Prof. Dr. Arne Strauss and Jan-Rasmus Künnen presented the paper on Value of Flexible Trajectory Product at Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
On 11 May 2022, Prof. Dr. Radosav Jovanović and Nikola Ivanov presented the CADENZA project with a focus on demand management and trajectory product at European Regions Airline Association Operations and Air Safety Group meetings, hosted by EUSPA in Prague, Czech Republic.
On 9 April 2022, Prof. Dr. Frank Fichert presented the CADENZA research project and some preliminary results at Symposium on Aviation Research at University of Bergamo in Italy
On 17 February 2022, Prof. Dr. Arne Strauss and Jan-Rasmus Künnen presented the paper on Value of Flexible Trajectory Product at CORMSIS Seminar, University of Southampton in the UK.
On 4 February 2022, Prof. Dr. Arne Strauss had a live interview about sustainability in the airline industry, including Cadenza findings at WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany.
The CADENZA team presented a paper on "Strategic Cross-Border Capacity Planning Under Uncertainty" at the SESAR Innovation Days 2021.
This year, the SESAR Innovation Days will be held as a virtual event, the CADENZA presentation is scheduled on Tuesday, 7th December, 4 pm
On 26 Oct, Prof. Dr. Frank Fichert and Jan-Rasmus Künnen successfully presented the first results from the project in the FABEC OPS theatre at the World ATM Congress: https://www.worldatmcongress.org/fabec-ops-theatre. At the same time, we also had several meetings with members of our expert panel and many interesting conversations about CADENZA in Madrid.
On 7th October 2021, the CADENZA team held a very successful online Intermediate Review Meeting and received positive feedbacks from SJU.
On 7 and 8 September 2021 the CADENZA team successfully organized the first interactive Stakeholder workshop. The workshop was online and attracted participants not only from Europe but also from Asia i.e., Australia and Vietnam.
On 29 July 2021, Prof. Dr. Arne Strauss presented on the value of flexible trajectory products.
From 19 to 23 July 2021, the CADENZA team had one working week together in Belgrade in order to align the next steps for the project.
On 28 June 2021 and 1 July 2021, the CADENZA held the second meeting with the CADENZA expert panel - The 28 June was dedicated to the Capacity side while the 1 July was focused on the Demand side of the CADENZA concept
